I was thinking that the crystals in game could be used to capture a monsters soul giving it better stats. I was thinking to do this you'd have to cast like a "soul-snatcher" spell which increases the chance of capturing the monsters soul. After you casting the spell you'd have to attack the monster until death to potentially get the monsters spell.
