Bescareds Weapon sheeting tutorial
Hey Guys, I'm going to be teaching people how to sheet a weapon. First thing first,
How many Views of the weapon am i going to need?
NOTE: DO NOT USE PURE BLACK AS AN OUTLINE BECAUSE THIS IS THE TRANSPARENCY FOR EO.
So, These are the way that your weapon is going to line up. Blade closest to the blue line, Handle closest to the center (Where the lines meet)
NOTE: YOU CAN FLIP AND ROTATE SOME VIEWS TO GET VIEWS THAT YOU NEED
After you have made all the views to line up with the ways the weapon must face, it is time to start sheeting your weapon.
I will be demonstrating this using graphics gale. First you must open the weapon sheet, You Can find this in "Lexies All-in-one EO Pixeling guide" In the artwork section.
Step 1: Open the sheet and add a layer:
Step 2:Use the flood fill tool so that the second layer is the same color as your weapon background, Add a transparency to the second layer, This is located in the layer properties button: NOTE: YOUR TRANSPARENCY MUST BE THE SAME COLOR AS THE WEAPON BACKGROUND:
The point of the transparency is so that when you go to copy and paste the Weapon onto the sheet, No colour "Splodges" (For lack of a better word) Are left on your sheet.
Step 3: Copy and paste your weapon onto each individual character known as "Sprites", Heres an example of how the weapons should sit.
After you've done this step Use the combine layer tool, At the moment you have Your weapons sitting ontop of your sprites, the next step will show you how to fix this.
Step 4: Repeat step 2 By adding a layer and using the flood fill, Exept this time, Use the colour of the weapons sheet (The green). Now copy and paste the entire weapons sheet and line it up so that the new weapons sheet layer lines up with the original weapons sheet layer. Now your sheet is nearly done.
Step 5: Notice how the last frame of attacking has the weapon behind it, you're going to have to copy and paste from the handle to the end of the blade So that the blade is ontop of the sprite. NOTE: FOR THIS TO WORK SUCCESSFULLY YOU'RE GOING TO NEED TO ADD A LAYER AND THE TRANSPARENCY OF THE WEAPON BACKGROUND, SO TO AVOID SPLODGES
Finally, use the combine layer tool so that the layers become one.
Now that you have your weapon sheeted, you need to flood fill each of your boxes with pure black, As this is the transparency used for EO.
Congratulations, You have successfully sheeted your weapon!
Hope this helped.

good job with the tutorial. [: but uhh isn't this more of a weapon sheet tutorial, rather than a weapon tutorial? it doesn't actually tell me how to pixel the weapon. o.o
as well as this, i only need 3 or 4 views (i can't remember x.x) for the weapon. i flip and rotate the rest of the views to fit accordingly.
