I dunno if you understood what i meant, you have to decide where your lights coming from (For eo its usually from the left side) And think, lightest point is going to be towards the left mid. Right hand sides going to be darkest, as part of it goes around the body, the left sides going to be slightly darker than the middle, as this also goes around the body,

Dithering : Checkboarding to give a smooth transition between shades. This is a good technique to use. As you can see i used it to go between the darker area and lighter area. Are you saving the image i showed you and zooming in on it? if not, do that and take a look.

Yea the shading is better, although you could work abit about the contrast of the colors ur using.
